Relationship testing establishes family relationships other than paternity. This includes maternity tests, which parents occasionally request when they suspect newborns were swapped, or after IVF, to verify that the embryo really was theirs. It also covers sibling tests, usually of interest to older people whose parents are no longer alive. We also encounter many less standard requests, which is why we always prepare these tests after a consultation and an assessment of the testing options (the presumed relationships, the people available for testing, the likelihood of a conclusive result). We also set the price individually according to the specific case.

Relationship tests do not require verification of the identity of those tested. They take the DNA sample themselves using a kit we send by post, so it can be done in the privacy of your home. Alternatively the sample can be taken at our premises in Prague 6, by prior appointment. The result of a relationship test includes the test identifiers (case number, sample numbers), a listing of the DNA markers tested and a written evaluation of the result, including the probability of the relationship. The turnaround depends on how complex the case is.
