What Genoskop® is
Each of us is born with different predispositions for different activities — music, a particular sport, manual dexterity, working with people and so on. They can also relate to health and lifestyle: increased fat storage, the perception of particular tastes, or elevated blood cholesterol.
If these predispositions are identified in time, they can either be developed and supported so the person excels in that activity or, in the case of health-related traits, met with a suitable diet and lifestyle that prevents their negative effects from developing.
Although these predispositions are written in our genes, most of them still cannot be determined despite the enormous scientific progress of the past decade — but some can.
In the Genoskop® tests we look at genes linked to predispositions, mainly in sport and nutrition. Every gene we cover was carefully selected on the basis of scientific studies that confirmed its role in a significant group of people with that very trait — sports genes in elite athletes, absolute pitch in musical virtuosos, fat metabolism in overweight or underweight individuals, and so on.
There are two basic types of Genoskop® test to choose from. The first, Genoskop® Junior, is aimed at young children and is designed to help parents steer their child towards the activities that come most naturally to them. The second, Genoskop® Linie, covers predispositions related to how the body handles fats, how it perceives and craves sweet and bitter tastes, and its capacity for different kinds of sport. The result is a detailed recommendation for a better lifestyle and for losing weight.
